Well, I finally took a leap of faith and decided it was time to look for a new job. Sent my resume out to a lot of different places and got a couple hits back. One from Mike Shaw Subaru and the other from Financial Foundation Group. As you can tell from these two, I’m getting out of the construction field since there isn’t any work and I’m tired of my body hurting when I wake up, during the day, and when I go to sleep.
Mike Shaw called me this past saturday. They wanted me to come in and fill out an application for the sales position they have open. Yeah, I know what you’re thinking. I’m gonna be one of those guys who stands out there, waiting for you to come by, then try to sell you a car. LOL. I went in on saturday and filled out the application. The receptionist proceeded to tell me that I would have to come back for an interview on monday, but I thought the sales manager wanted to talk to me before hand. Went home, called, and an interview was set up for monday. So monday came and I went to the interview. The interview only lasted about 4 mins, but the sales manager said they would give me a shot and to come back in wednesday (today) to do a drug test and the employment paperwork at 9AM. Here it is, 1130AM, and I’m now waiting for a call back from the sales manager. I’m gonna give him till the end of this blog to call, then I’m gonna call. It should be a good job since the sales manager told me I would be “Paid well”. Whatever that means. I’ll keep updates about it as I find out more of what’s going on.
Financial Foundation Group emailed me monday offering an interview opportunity. I politely declined it though due to one fact. Two years ago I tried to get a job with a company named AP Financial. That job turned out to be a scam and that they were an MLM company. Those who don’t know what an MLM company is, it’s a Multi Level Marketing company that uses an employee pyramid scheme. Pretty much, if you recruit people, you get paid for it and every month that person is employed with the company. Scam alert? I think so. When I read the email monday, the name looked very familiar. I thought about it and found out that the name from Financial Foundation Group was the same name that sent me an interview email 2 years ago for AP Financial. Needless to say, this time around, I knew better. The email looked the same and it wasn’t even a one on one interview, but a group interview. I’m sure that some major companies do group interviews, but to me, it just seems unprofessional to do group interviews.
Well, I’m gonna give the dealership a call again. Hopefully I’ll get to do the paperwork and drug test today and get more info on the job. Wish me luck!
